The group painted the boat black with a thin blue stripe, the "Thin Blue Line," as a way to stand in solidarity with the officers.
Five police officers were killed and seven others were injured in the shooting.
The Folly Boat has been a landmark since Hurricane Hugo left it in the bushes along Folly Road in 1989, and people have been painting a variety of messages on it ever since.
The Thin Blue Line is a symbol that commemorates fallen law enforcement officers and the relationship between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.
