SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A Cross man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a fatal shooting in Summerville.

Shearon Lamar Bennett was sentenced on Monday for the 2013 shooting that took the life of 32-year-old April Infinger of Goose Creek.

Bennett had pleaded guilty two weeks ago to manslaughter and discharging a firearm.

The shooting happened at the Moonshine Salon on Myers Road.

Infinger was celebrating a friend's birthday at the bar.

Aubrey Cade, a friend of Infinger's said a fight broke out inside the business and spilled outside.

Cade told Infinger it was a good time to leave.

"I turned around to hug her and no sooner could I get my arms back from around her to let my husband know we were ready to go," she recalled. "That's when she was saying oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life. I'll just never forget."
