CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Stono Park Elementary students and parents can get a look at their new school during an open house.
Charleston County School District is hosting an open house Thursday, July 14 as students and teachers move to former St. Andrews Middle School on Wappoo Road. Everyone is invited to tour the facility as the new school year approaches. The community can also get an update on the other details about the 2016-17 school year.
While Stono Park Elementary students move into the St. Andrews location this fall, the school board still hasn't made a decision on the future of the 60-year-old West Ashley school house on Garden Street. In March, the board voted to suspend a decision until it could study revenue in September and decide then if the school should be rebuilt or renovated.
The open house will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
