NCPD searching for female suspect in Rivers Ave. bank robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston police are investigating a bank robbery in the 7500 block of Rivers Avenue.

Shortly before 11 a.m., a woman entered Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union and presented a note to the teller demanding money, NCPD spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Police say the woman did not present a weapon and that the teller complied with the demand.

The suspect left the bank with an undetermined amount of money and was last seen crossing Rivers Avenue on foot in the direction of Stafford Street, Pryor said.

The suspect is described as 5’6” to 5’8”, in her mid 20s, weighing approximately 130 pounds, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and carrying a red shoulder bag.
