Red Cross assisting resident after fire destroys mobile home in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Red Cross is assisting one person after a fire destroyed their home in Summerville Monday morning.

At 8:56 a.m., Summerville Fire-Rescue crews responded to a fire at a home on Forest Circle in the S. Main Mobile Home Park.

When crews arrived they found a single wide mobile home fully involved with fire.

Chief Richard Waring said the fire was brought under control in thirty five minutes.

"Crews remained on scene for one additional hour to perform overhaul operations and insure the fire was completely extinguished," SFR officials said."The dwelling was a total loss. No other dwellings were damaged."

According to officials, one occupant was displaced by the fire and is being assisted by the Red Cross.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SFR officials say a total of twenty four SFR personnel and four fire engines responded to the call.
