CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol officials say a 36-year-old man has been arrested after he sideswiped a Charleston police car Tuesday night.
Authorities have charged Patrick Kalish of Charleston with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to SCHP officials, a pick up truck driven by Kalish was heading south on Folly Road when it sideswiped a Charleston police car which was heading north.
SCHP officials say the officer in the CPD car went to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Emergency crews were spotted in the area of Folly Road near the Wappoo bridge as crews cleared the scene.
According to dispatch officials, the accident happened around 8:49 p.m.
