BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The definition of a Good Samaritan is a charitable or helpful person.
In Berkeley County, that help came in threes. In late May, when a home in the Overton Community caught fire, and a 14-month-old baby was trapped inside, three neighbors jumped into action.
Steve Johnson, Tina Huggins and Douglas Kennedy went into the burning house, got the baby out and then started CPR. They saved the baby's life. They don't like to be called heroes, but we'll call them that because they are heroes.
The Berkeley County Council agrees and honored the deserving Good Samaritans. With all that's going on here and around the world, it's comforting to know there are still people who will risk their own lives to save others. Bravo.
