CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested a 20-year-old North Charleston man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in downtown Charleston.

The Charleston Police Department charged Camilo Aparicio Jaimes with first-degree sexual conduct.

Jaimes' arrest stems from an incident on Saturday at 1:45 a.m. when the victim was at the fountain at Marion Square park speaking with Jaimes.

The victim said she gave Jaimes $5 because he was homeless, and then decided to get up to leave.

A report states as the victim was trying to get up to leave, Jaimes forced the victim into his lap by grabbing her hips.

The victim stated Jaimes then sexually assaulted her.

Police say the victim got away from Jaimes, ran to a gas station and called police.

After the victim gave a description and location of the suspect, police located Jaimes who was then identified by the victim.

Jaimes was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center and given an $80,000 bond.
