MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a car Friday night.
Paul Joseph Escritt, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on South Live Oak Drive, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury confirmed.
The Moncks Corner man was crossing South Live Oak Drive Friday at approximately 9:15 p.m. when he was struck, Salisbury said.
The driver of the car did not suffer any injuries, South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins said.
No charges are expected to be filed, he said.
Salisbury said Escritt's death was ruled accidental.
