SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A jury of eight women and four men was seated Monday for the trial of a man accused of killing a woman he met on a social media site.
Edward Bonilla is charged with killing Ashley Pegram in April of last year.
Investigators say they met on the social media app "Kik."
According to investigators, Pegram left her Summerville home to see Bonilla April 4 and never returned.
Bonilla claimed he threw the woman out of his car around midnight because she was drunk but investigators say surveillance video showed Pegram getting back in Bonilla's car at the same hour.
Deputies say they found blood evidence of Pegram's DNA in the trunk of her accused killer's car.
Pegram's body was found a little more than a month later in the woods in Harleyville.
The trial is expected to last until Wednesday or Thursday.
