Deputies searching for carjacking suspects in Williamsburg County

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are searching for three people involved in a carjacking in Williamsburg County this past weekend.

On Sunday at 7:02 p.m., WCSO deputies along with EMS responded to Hinson Circle on Kingstree concerning a carjacking.

According to investigators, a 47-year-old man was pistol whipped and robbed at gunpoint on Cherry Avenue.

The victim's 2002 Cadillac, cell phone, and money was taken during the robbery. According to investigators, deputies eventually located the vehicle.

"Based on information at the scene, a black female flagged Williams down as he was traveling on Cherry Ave.," WCSO officials said."Two black males armed with handguns ambushed [the victim] when he stopped."

The victim received injuries to the back of his head during this incident.

"Williams was treated at an area hospital for his injuries," WCSO officials said.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for any information concerning this incident to please call 843-355-6381 ext. 4516 tipsters can remain anonymous.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
