NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 61-year-old North Charleston man who had been reported missing by his family has been accounted for.

The man contacted family members Thursday afternoon to let them know he is okay, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

The man had last been seen leaving his St. Johns Avenue apartment on Friday and was reported missing by his family on Monday, Pryor said.

Police said there were concerns because the man suffers from "several illnesses that require daily medication which can be fatal" if the medication is not taken.
