Berkeley deputies investigating gun store break-in

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is investigating a nighttime burglary at a Wando gun store.

Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at 12:30 a.m. Sunday to find a hole had been cut into the roof at Coastal Firearms on Cainhoy Road, according to Chief Deputy Mike Cochran.

Investigators say 38 firearms of various types were stolen.

The incident took place between 12:20 a.m. and 12:40 a.m., Cochran said. Entry into the store would have been visible from Cainhoy Road.
