The victim in a moped accident on Ladson Road has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner's Office as Philip McDonnell, 58, of Ladson.
Officials say McDonnell was killed on July 28 after hitting the back of a car when changing lanes on Highway 78.
A report states the car, a 2011 Toyota, was stopped in rush hour traffic when the collision occurred.
"The moped operator was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene as a result of his injuries," authorities said.
