CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Weather experts say July 2016 was the hottest on record.
According to NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information, this past month was 1.57 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th Century average.
Record keepers also report July was the 15th month in a row to break a monthly heat record. It passed July 2015 as the warmest month on record by 0.11 degrees. According to NOAA, records date back to 1880.
