South Carolina's jobless rate has again fallen to a 15-year low.
The Department of Employment and Workforce says Friday that state unemployment was 5.2 percent in July. That's a drop from 5.4 percent in June and is South Carolina's lowest level since June 2001.
Last month, officials said the 5.4 figure was at that time the state's lowest jobless rate in 15 years.
Nationally, unemployment stayed level in July, at 4.9 percent.
Government and professional and businesses services posted the month's most job gains, with 4,400 positions. Manufacturing and construction jobs were down by a total of 1,900.
Compared to a year ago, South Carolina unemployment is down 0.5 percent.
