CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Lowcountry tradition will not be taking place this year.

Fright Nights at Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant has been canceled.

They made the announcement on Facebook stating that the plantation recently decided to go separate ways with the company that puts on Fright Nights.

A spokesperson for Boone Hall says the decision didn't give them enough time to put on the event this fall.

They hope to have the event up and running again next year.

Fright Nights was the haunted house that usually ran from September through Halloween.

Boone Hall Plantation released the following statement on Facebook:

We will not be presenting the Boone Hall Fright Nights event in 2016. Recently Boone Hall Plantation and DVE Productions decided to go their separate ways and at the time this decision was made it just did not give us the time that is necessary to get a team together for a 2016 event.

Plans are already underway to bring this event back in 2017 and hopefully take this popular fall event to the next level. It is worth noting that DVE Productions did a very good job designing and presenting this event during our years together and we thank them for the standards they have set for this event and wish them the best.

We will post updates for the 2017 event here on the Boone Hall Plantation Facebook page as plans unfold. Thanks so much for your support of Boone Hall Plantation.
