GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A 19-year-old was fatally shot at a party early Sunday morning in Goose Creek, according to the Berkeley County coroner.

Kyle David Shirlin was attending a party in a Goose Creek neighborhood when he was shot, Coroner Bill Salisbury said.

Shirlin was pronounced dead on the scene, Salisbury said.

The details surrounding the shooting are not clear, but Salisbury said the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the Goose Creek Police Department are investigating.

The shooting happened on Westerfield Drive in the Cherry Hill subdivision, according to Goose Creek Police Lt. S. Ollic. Witnesses told police they heard a single gunshot then described a scene of vehicles fleeing and people running from the area.

Police are still working to identify a motive and a suspect in the killing.
