CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The registration for the third annual Ronald McDonald House Red Shoe Walk opens Monday.
Registration for the walk costs $50 and all donations raised will go to the Ronald McDonald House. People who register will receive the Big Red Shoes and a tee shirt.
The actual walk will take place on Oct. 23 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. The walk will be at the Grove at Patriots Point and walkers will wear Ronald McDonald's big red shoes.
The event will also include games and several fun prizes.
The Ronald McDonald House is asking each participant to raise funds for the families who call their house "home" while their children are being treated in area hospitals. The house relies on donations to operate the 32 bedroom house each and every night. Officials say the cost of running the house exceeds $3,200 per day.
The Ronald McDonald House offers families comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff and support just steps from the hospital where their children receive medical treatment.
