CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's hard to believe it's only been a week ago since the rain began falling in Louisiana. Since then, more than 30-thousand people have been rescued in the historic flooding.
The images are gut wrenching. Lives have been lost. Families have lost their homes. Businesses have been destroyed or damaged.
First-responders, the military, and private citizens have risked their own lives in rising waters to save so many. It will take months, even longer, for the Gulf Coast region to recover.
Last Fall, Charleston and other parts of South Carolina got hit with its own thousand-year flood.
Others reached out to help us. Let's reach out now to help Louisiana. Recovery costs have already exceeded $10 million.
Join WCSC and the Raycom Media family of stations to help the American Red Cross raise money to help the flood victims in Louisiana. Thank you.
