NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager has settled a lawsuit against the Southern State Police Benevolence Association.
Slager sued the association after it refused to cover his legal fees in the shooting death of Walter Scott during a traffic stop last year.
The amount of money in the settlement was not released in court documents.
Slager said he paid dues to the association to cover his legal fees if he were involved in legal action related to police work.
The association had declined to pay.
