MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested a 21-year-old man after two men were stabbed at a home in Mount Pleasant.
Authorities charged Lawton Ellis Sterling of Mount Pleasant with assault of a high and aggravated nature and attempted murder.
Sterling's charges stem from an incident Tuesday night when an officer responded to a home on White Flat Road for a stabbing.
Emergency officials advised the officer there was an active fight and stabbing in progress.
When the officer arrived on scene, a woman ran towards him and told him the victims and the suspect were inside the home.
The officer went into the home and saw a shirtless man, later identified as Sterling, who was covered in blood.
The officer then pointed his gun at him and ordered him to the ground to which Sterling complied.
According to a report, the officer said he could hear a woman crying and saying her friend was dying.
A report states the officer found two male victims on the ground in another room.
One victim was lying in a fetal position with a visible wound to the head.
The second victim had several wounds and was heavily bleeding; police say a woman was holding pressure to the victim's neck.
Investigators say they saw a large amount of blood on the floor in several areas and saw several broken pieces of glass.
Mt. Pleasant police officials say the two victims have since been released from the hospital.
