The Charleston Battery and Rochester Rhinos will battle on the pitch, but Saturday will be a day for the dogs at MUSC Health Stadium.

The Battery is teaming up with the Charleston Animal Society for the dog-friendly event, Pups at the Pitch on Saturday, September 3. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the match and help raise money and awareness. A portion of the ticket sales will support the Charleston Animal Society and the Caitlyn Anti-Cruelty Fund.

Tickets are $20 and include a seat for one human and one dog in the East Bleachers. The ticket also gains entry to the "Very Important Pups" (VIP) tent. The VIP tent will feature giveaways such as treats and toys for the four-legged friends and trips to doggie daycare. If the dogs are hot, they can also take a dip in the doggie pools in the shade. Dog lovers will also be able to adopt dogs on site through CAS.

Caitlyn the dog, a survivor of animal abuse, will be the honorary captain for the match and will participate in the coin toss. Caitlyn was found in North Charleston in May 2015 with her muzzle taped shut. The Charleston Animal Society nursed the dog back to health as her story gained worldwide attention.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
