CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The BI-LO in downtown Charleston is set to close in October.
Company officials said the store on 445 Meeting St. will close on Oct. 5.
According to BI-LO, employees are aware of the closures and are encouraged to apply to neighboring BI-LOs; there are 17 locations in the Charleston area.
District Manager Bill Scales released the following statement:
Southeastern Grocers has made the very difficult, yet necessary, decision to close our BI-LO store located at 445 Meeting St. in Charleston. We are proud of our history in this community and it's been our pleasure to serve our customers there. We look forward to continuing to provide great service and value to our customers at our 17 remaining stores in the Charleston community.
Our associates are always the first to know of any changes at our stores and have been made aware of the closure, and are encouraged to apply for the many open positions we have in our network of neighboring BI-LO stores. The date of closure is scheduled to take place in early October 5, 2016. Until the store closes, we will work hard to continue delivering the great service and value our customers have come to expect.
