SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators say a nude man was tased in the butt after he punched a Dorchester County deputy who was helping the man back to his home.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office charged 32-year-old Brandon Myers of Baltimore, Md. with assault of a high and aggravated nature and resisting arrest.

He was locked up with a $125,000 surety bond.

Myers' arrest happened on Saturday when two corporals responded to a report of a disturbance in reference to a man heard screaming near the woods in the area of Old Fort Drive in the Old Fort Estates in Summerville.

The corporals reported that they made contact with a naked man who appeared to be under the influence.

"The subject was discovered in a dimly lit area, was naked and appeared confused," a sheriff's office report states.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies and the suspect's roommate attempted to escort the man back to his home.

Authorities say the suspect then turned, and without warning, punched one of the corporals in the left side of his face.

The incident report states the suspect then attempted to flee and resist arrest.

The second deputy said due to the suspect's actions, the deputy took out his taser and tased the suspect in his left upper back and lower mid back area.

The sheriff's office says the suspect again attempted to resist and refused to comply with the commands of the deputies.

Authorities say the suspect was then tased again.

As the deputies were escorting the suspect to the patrol car, authorities say the suspect attempted to drop to the ground and resist being escorted.

At this point, deputies say the suspect was stunned on the suspect's right buttock in order to gain compliance.

"The subject was escorted to the roadway and EMS was summoned to evaluate the subject," the incident report states.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputy who was struck by the suspect suffered injuries to his left eye, cheek, upper jaw and teeth.

In addition, the deputy complained of blurred vision and was unable to drive from the scene.

He was taken to Summerville Medical Center.

The sheriff's office says the deputy suffered serious facial fractures, underwent surgery and is home recovering.

The suspect was also taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
