Investigators arrest downtown Charleston attempted murder suspect

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators with the Charleston Police Department have arrested a 23-year-old man wanted for a shooting in downtown Charleston. 

Authorities arrested Myles Taylor of Ravenel for a shooting that happened on Aug. 26 at Coming Street at 6:30 a.m. 

Officers responded in reference to an individual that had been shot at least two times.

"The investigation found that Taylor was an invited guest at the location where several people gathered and a dice game began that continued into the early hours," CPD officials said. 

A report states at 6:30 a.m. Taylor robbed an individual, who was also an invited guest at the location.

"A physical altercation ensued and Taylor shot the victim," police said.

Taylor was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime and Armed Robbery.

He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
