HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - A man has been charged with driving under the influence after his car was involved in a crash with an Amtrak train near Hanahan late Sunday night.
Officials with the Hanahan Police Department say Hung Tran was able to get out of his car before Amtrak Auto Train 52 hit it on railroad tracks near Northwoods Mall and Eagle Landing Boulevard.
Officials say his car was stopped on the tracks.
Tran, 54, had a blood alcohol content level of .15 percent, according to Lt. Michael Fowler. The legal limit is .08 percent.
