DCSO: Two in custody following shooting, chase that ended on Remount Rd.

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say two people are in custody following a shooting and chase that ended on Remount Road Thursday night. 

According to authorities, the incident started when a Highway Patrol trooper was investigating a hit-and-run on Dorchester Road. 

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says shots were fired from a vehicle. 

A pursuit then began with deputies and officers from the North Charleston Police Department pursuing the suspect's vehicle. 

DCSO officials said the chase ended in the area of Remount Road. 

Investigative crews were seen looking at a silver car that has been taped off at the A Mart Quick Stop on Remount Road and Dobson Street. 

No injuries have been reported. 

Motorists began reporting about a heavy police presence in North Charleston around 8:06 p.m.

According to nearby residents, multiple officers from North Charleston and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office are on scene.
