NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say a North Charleston man was arrested after an armed robbery at a gas station.

The North Charleston Police Department arrested 28-year-old Frank Antonio Linen.

Linen's arrest stems from an incident on Monday just before 4 a.m. when officers responded to the Circle K on 5255 Rivers Ave. for a report of an armed robbery.

During the investigation, officers responded to the Economy Inn and Suites on 5020 Rivers Ave. and located Linen at the hotel.

According to a police report, Linen had on a black t-shirt and plaid shorts which is what the suspect was wearing at the time of the incident.

Police say Linen said he had been at the hotel drinking his beer.

NCPD officials say the victim was transported to the hotel and identified Linen as the robbery suspect.

Officers also reported finding a wooden stake on Linen.

A report states that during Linen's transport to jail, he said he robbed the gas station but claimed the cashier was the mother of his child and was in on the robbery.
