Police: Man facing charges after 'Facebook argument' leads to shot fired

MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Moncks Corner Police arrested a man in connection with a disagreement on social media that sparked a physical altercation and ended in gunfire.

Terrell Jones Williams is charged with unlawfully carrying a handgun, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, driving under suspension second offense and discharging a weapon in town limits, according to Moncks Corner Police Lt. Michael Roach.

Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Old Highway 52 near the Plantation Apartments.

The victim told police an ongoing "Facebook argument" resulted in a physical altercation between him and Williams. Several other men grabbed the victim and pulled him off of Williams, who then removed a modified AK47 from his vehicle and fired a shot that struck the victim's car tire, police say.

Police located the vehicle and arrested Williams and Oneal Jarrad Parker, both of whom had outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear, Roach said.

The weapon was recovered near the center console and secured, according to the incident report.

Both were being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

A judge set bond for Williams at $16,465.
