NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating after one person was shot in North Charleston Friday afternoon.
Officers found the victim in the 2300 block of Bailey Drive.
Around 1:30 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Cosgrove Avenue and Azalea Drive when they heard gun shots and began canvassing the area.
According to NCPD, officers were told that someone suffering from a gunshot wound was in the area of Bailey Drive.
Police then located the victim who was found suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to MUSC for treatment.
NCPD authorities are continuing the investigation.
Investigators were seen in the area of Accabee Road and Crosby Avenue.
Witnesses say police had taped off a portion of the road as crews investigated.
Some neighbors reported hearing multiple shots in the area and seeing a vehicle speed off.
Emergency crews including EMS and police have responded to the scene.
