MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a fire heavily damaged a home in Mount Pleasant on Monday.

Officials with the Mount Pleasant Fire Department say the fire happened at a home on Omni Boulevard near the Isle of Palms Connector.

According to MPPD officials, when crews arrived on the scene they found the garage, the second floor and the attic fully involved.

There were no injuries reported.

Around 30 firefighters responded to the fire.

Authorities are investigating how the fire started. According to residents, the fire started from a lightning strike.

Motorists reported poor visibility near the area due to the smoke.
