A school resource officer found a pellet gun in the book bag of a Summerville middle school student Tuesday.
The student, who attends Gregg Middle School, was caught with the weapon on the school bus after school, according to Dorchester County School District 2 spokesperson Pat Raynor.
A school resource officer was called to the bus after another student tipped off the bus driver while buses were being loaded.
Proper disciplinary action will be taken, Raynor said.
Neither the name or age of the student was released.
