A woman wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Summerville has turned herself in, officers say.

Officers say Disiree "Dezzy" Williams of Ladson had an outstanding warrant for obstruction of justice after telling officers she didn't know the shooting victim, when she was actually a companion of his.

Officers said they responded to a shooting at Magnolia Place Apartments on Hutson Drive on Sept. 17.

A man found in the backyard of a residence, identified as Stefon Chapman of Summerville, later succumbed to gunshot wounds.

A report states Williams was captured on video surveillance with the victim minutes before the shooting, but told investigators she didn't know the him and never had contact with him.

Williams was booked at the Dorchester County Detention Center and later released on a $7,000 surety bond.
