CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The International African American Museum is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Charleston Board of Architectural Review gave preliminary approval to the building which will be built at Gadsden's Warf along Charleston's Harbor downtown.
They did recommend some changes to the design.
The 75 million dollar building will chronicle the story of hundreds of thousands of slaves who came into American through Charleston.
The museum is expected to be open in 2018.
