Cops: Goose Creek man arrested after police chase in N. Charleston

A Goose Creek man is behind bars after police say he fled the scene of an accident then led officers on a chase in North Charleston. 

The North Charleston Police Department charged 28-year-old Michael L. Millard with leaving the scene of an accident, DUS, failure to stop for blue lights.

Millard also faces charges with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. 

According to police, the incident started when officers were working an accident between two vehicles in the area of Tanger Outlet and the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident fled the scene.  

Authorities say the driver entered I-26 and exited on Ashley Phosphate Road to Rivers Avenue.  

"A Charleston County Deputy spotted the vehicle in the area of Dunlap Street," NCPD officials said."The driver pulled over in the area of Ashley Phosphate Road and was subsequently arrested."

Law enforcement officials were spotted at the Applebee's on 7818 Rivers Ave.

North Charleston police officers were spotted responding to the restaurant's parking lot.
