NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Emergency management officials from the Tri-County say the evacuation orders for Hurricane Matthew have been lifted and residents are welcome to return to their homes.
Charleston County Emergency Operations Center Director Cathy Haynes said the county is returning to OpCon 3 Sunday. She said the county information would remain open for people to get answers to questions. That number is (843) 746-3900.
Dorchester County is also returning to OpCon 3, according to County Council Chair David Chinnis.
Berkeley County returned to OpCon 3 operations as well, County spokesman Michael Mulé said. His county created a Facebook page for residents to post photos of damage they need to report. Leaders ask that anyone in the county who posts photos please post their address so damage assistance teams can respond quickly. The Facebook page is located here.
Neither of the three counties reported any losses of life during the storm.
The storm made landfall Saturday in the McClellanville area.Officials are expected to address road issues, power outage concerns, and other important information for residents from the county's Emergency Operations Center.
