DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that took the life of a 36-year-old man.
Officials with the Dorchester County Coroner's Office say Orlando Johnson of Summerville died at Trident Medical Center on the night of Oct. 14.
The primary cause of death was given as a gunshot wound.
The case was initially given to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office.
"After determining that the incident did not occur at the Spinx Gas Station near Highway 78 and College Park Road, it was transferred to Dorchester County Coroner's Office on October 19, 2016," DCCO authorities said on Monday.
Officials with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office had reported at the time of the incident that they believed it was an accidental shooting.
