CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a teenager was arrested after he brought a stolen gun to a Lowcountry high school football game.
The Charleston Police Department arrested 17-year-old Jamal Wilder on Friday and charged him with unlawful carrying of a handgun, unlawful carry of a weapon on school property and possession of a stolen handgun.
According to CPD, the gun was reported stolen out of Goose Creek.
Wilder was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
According to police, a concerned parent told a school official during the football game at James Island Charter that a student was in possession of a handgun.
"The school official identified the student and provided that information to the officers who were working the security detail at the game," CPD officials said."The officers located the student and found the loaded handgun in his possession."
Police are continuing the investigation.
