NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Three people were arrested after a North Charleston drug bust on Thursday.

The North Charleston Police Department arrested 23-year-old Heather Marie Newcomb of Livingston, SC; 25-year-old Melissa Wilkinson of Marietta, Ga., and 66-year-old Oliver Blunt of North Charleston.

The three were arrested when members of the NCPD Narcotics unit executed a search warrant at a home on Ranger Drive.

NCPD officials say the bust was a result of an on-going investigation into illegal narcotics activity.

According to police, during the search investigators confiscated 10.5 grams of heroin, 2.8 grams of cocaine base, and 17 dosage units of schedule III narcotics (suboxone).

Newcomb and Wilkinson were charged with trafficking heroin and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base. Newcomb was also charged with possession of Schedule III narcotics.

Blunt was charged with possession of cocaine base.

According to police, the three were detained in a home and then locked up at the Al Canon Detention Center.
