SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Summerville police have identified the man arrested after they say he fled from a vehicle involved in a multi-car collision on the Berlin G. Meyers Parkway.

Vincent Hilton Washington III, 21, is charged with driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and resisting arrest, Summerville Police Lt. Nick Santanna said. Washington was receiving medical treatment at the scene, Santanna said.

Summerville Police and Fire responded to the parkway at approximately 12 p.m. to a possible head-on crash involving four cars, he said. Police say while first responders were on the scene, they received a call that a man fled from one of the vehicles.

Earlier, Summerville Police dispatchers said the Berlin G. Myers Parkway is down to one lane in each direction and Highway 78 Westbound is blocked.

There is no word on other injuries.
