NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Thousands of people across the nation are doing something very important wrong.
Many people do not know how to properly secure a child in a car seat. If the child is secured correctly in the car seat, the actual car seat may not be installed correctly.
Some first responders of the Lowcountry want to make sure you and your family understand the correct way a child should be in a car seat.
There will be a Safety Seat Check on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will take place at the North Charleston Fire Museum.
The event is free, and will be hosted by the City of North Charleston.
The North Charleston Fire and Police Department, St. John's Fire Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, City of Charleston Fire Department, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department will be in attendance to help.
There will be certified safety seat technicians that will assist families in learning the proper car seat protocols.
