NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating whether a car reported stolen was used to crash into a gun store early Sunday morning.
Police responded at approximately 3:50 a.m. to a gun store in the 4900 block of Rivers Avenue after a burglar alarm went off, an incident report states. Police found a blue Honda Civic that had been driven through the doors of the building.
Police say they did not find anyone inside the car or inside the store.
It was not immediately clear whether any items were taken from the store but store owners are currently conducting a full inventory, the report states.
Later that morning, they responded to a car lot nearby where a 2007 Honda Civic had been reported stolen, the report states. Police say someone took the Honda and used it to crash through the gate exiting the property.
The investigation is ongoing, police say.
