One person has died and a second has been transported to a hospital after an incident in Goose Creek.
Charleston County deputies went to a home late Tuesday afternoon to perform a welfare check, South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division spokesman Thom Berry said.
No one was at that address, but deputies had a second address in Goose Creek, he said.
Berry said deputies notified Goose Creek Police of the address of a home on Sarah Drive.
When police arrived, they said they heard screams from inside the home. Once inside, police say they found one woman dead and, according to reports, a man attempting to harm himself.
The man was transported to Trident for treatment.
Goose Creek police requested SLED investigate the incident.
According to a SLED spokesman, Goose Creek police officials called SLED because officers had to subdue the suspect when they made entry.
