JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A brother and sister each face 11 attempted murder charges in a Johns Island shooting, Charleston Police say.
Nicole Natarsha Mack, 33, and Joseph Cordero Mack, 27, both of Johns Island, are charged in a shooting incident Monday, Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Officers responded at approximately 10:40 p.m. to the 3600-block of Maybank Highway in reference to reports of shots fired at Johns Island Rural Housing, according to an incident report.
The victims told police they were standing outside their building when they saw a vehicle described as a Dodge Avenger with heavily-tinted windows alongside a smaller gray sedan enter the complex at an entrance approximately 100 yards away.
The vehicles stopped shortly after entering the complex and the occupants suddenly began shooting at the group, the victims said.
The group fled to the opposite side of the complex where they saw the same two vehicles pull in to the Maybank Highway side entrance and again open fire before fleeing towards Main Road, the report states.
Police recovered multiple shell casings at both the Brownswood Road and Maybank Highway entrances of the complex, the report states.
There were no reports of injuries.
The two were being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
