CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - N.A.D. road is back open Thursday after being closed so crews could rebuild a railroad crossing.
The road closure tested many people's patience this week, with drivers sitting in traffic for up to two hours each day. Motorists were seeking alternative routes to get to and from work.
In a statement to the media, the Goose Creek Police Department said they were not formally notified of the potential for major traffic congestion in the city limits as a result of the railroad maintenance.
Earlier this week, a spokeswoman with CSX Corporate Communications said the repair work was expected to be completed by Friday.
