NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Chili and oysters are on the menu for the Charleston Animal Society's annual fundraising feast.
More than 100 teams will be serving up their own recipes at the 17th annual Chili Cook-off & Oyster Roast Saturday. The all-you-can-eat event is at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Teams will compete in categories including traditional, unique and Best in Show.
About 5,000 food and animal lovers are expected to come out and enjoy the chili, oysters, live music and support the Charleston Animal Society. Last year the event raised $350,000 for the animal society's medical fund.
In addition to the food and music, the Cook-Off also includes pet adoptions, a Kid's Zone, games like corn hole and more. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online.
