DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - More than 100 jobs are coming to Dorchester County as Robert Bosch expands its operations.
According to Dorchester County officials, the $175 million expansion will bring 150 new jobs to the county.
"The Charleston region has always been a cornerstone of Bosch's manufacturing footprint in North America. Our relationship with the state, county, city and people of South Carolina is strong, and we're excited to further our commitment here" said Mike Mansuetti, President of Robert Bosch LLC.
According to county officials, the expansion will be located at 8101 Dorchester Road in North Charleston, and the company will be adding new manufacturing lines to support powertrain and chassis systems control programs from its Mobility Solutions business sector.
"Robert Bosch has been an employer of choice in Dorchester County and the region for forty years," said David Chinnis, Chairman of Dorchester County Council. "Today's investment shows their commitment to this community through 1,700 existing jobs and now 150 new jobs. In return, it also shows that Dorchester County provides value as a great place to do business for a world-class manufacturer like Robert Bosch."
Jason Ward, Dorchester County Administrator added "Existing industry is the lifeblood of our community. I am pleased that the Robert Bosch Corporation has again, chosen to expand its operations in Dorchester County. This decision to expand speaks to the quality of the workforce in our community."
