CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Thousands are expected to attend the 39th annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble in downtown Charleston.
The 5K walk and run will start on Thanksgiving at 9 a.m.
Packet pick-up for participants will be at Marion Square.
The start of the race is based on the speed of the participant and their assigned color.
Strollers are not allowed on the course this year.
Meeting Street, Calhoun Street and King Street around Marion Square will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. to noon for the race, according to Charleston County Police Department spokesman, Charles Francis.
Francis said the intersections along the race route will reopen as soon as the last runner passes through that intersection.
The start line is on the Meeting Street side of Marion Square.
The finish line is on the King Street side of Marion Square, Francis said.
