NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say two people looking to buy drugs were attacked and got their car stolen by a drug dealer in North Charleston on Wednesday.

NCPD officials say shortly before 2 p.m. officers responded to the front entrance of the Fairwind Apartments on Otranto Rd for a carjacking.

According to police, two victims told officers that they had set up a deal to buy marijuana from the suspect.

"They stated that the suspect approached the passenger side of the vehicle with a black handgun," NCPD officials said.

A report states the suspect pistol whipped the passenger as the driver fled from the vehicle.

Authorities said the suspect stole the vehicle and fled from the location with the victims' construction tools.

"Officers located the vehicle on Tyler Street," police said.
